CTCR Helen F. Graham Cancer Center
Center for Translational Cancer Research (CTCR) is located in the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center expansion. This
research area is set up for tissue culture and processing with four Labconco Class II A2 biological safety cabinets, one
Hamilton Safe Air Fume hood and two tissue culture incubators. Tissue culture area also has one phase contrast
microscope and one inverted microscope. Every room is supplied with double distilled UV-treated water for tissue
culture. This facility has several refrigerators including a Norlake walk-in-refrigerator. There are several freezers (- 20 and
-80) for tissue/reagents storage.

Equipment
- BD FACSAria II sorter - 488nm (100mw) and 640nm
(40mw) lasers, 6 fluorescent detectors and 8 parameters. System has the capability to do two and four-way sorting in to micro tubes, 12x75mm and 15mL tubes. Automated Cell Deposition Unit (ACDU) allows for multiwell plate and slide sorting. Optical filters to detect FITC, PE, PerCP Cy5.5, PE Cy7 fluorophores. Sorter is equipped with Aerosol management system to
contain aerosols.
- Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast Real Time PCR system.
- Zeiss motorized AxioObserver Z1 equipped brightfield, phase
contrast, Varel contrast, and epifluorescence; with both color and
monochrome digital cameras; X-Y scanning stage, 10X 20X, 40X and 100X objectives.
- Apotome confocal imaging device with high-performance PC
and AxioVision software.
